Creating Additional Email Accounts - Microsoft Outlook 2002 (Windows XP) - Close all of the open programs.
- From your desktop, right-click on the Outlook icon and select Properties.
- Click on the Show Profiles button.
- To add a new profile, click on the Add button.
- In the Profile Name text box, type a name for the account you wish to add.
- Click on the OK button.
- Select Add a new email account and click Next.
- Select POP3 as the Server Type (if applicable) and click Next.
- In the Your Name text box, type your name.
- In the Email address text box, type your email address.
For example: memberid@netzero.com - In the Incoming mail (POP3) server text box, type pop.netzero.com
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server text box, type authsmtp.netzero.com
- Under Account Name, type your email address. (such as memberid@netzero.com)
Note: You must use all lower case and include the @netzero.com - Under Password, type your NetZero password.
Note: This feature is optional. Leave this field blank, if you want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you access your email. Warning!
Do not check the circle next to Log on using Secure Password Authentication. - In the Mail Account text box, type NetZero Mail.
- In the Organization text box, type in your organization or you can leave this field blank.
- In the Reply address text box, type your email address.
For example: memberid@netzero.com - Select the Connection tab.
- Under "Connection," check the circle next to Connect using my local area network (LAN).
- Select the Advanced tab.
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) text box, type 587.
- In the Incoming mail (POP 3) text box, type 110.
- Click OK.
- Click on the Next button.
- Click on the Next button again.
- Click on the Finished button to exit.
- Follow Steps 4-26 to add additional Profiles.
- Click Close when finished.
Note: You must indicate which account profile that you want to log in with, otherwise Outlook will open the account from the last user who logged in. To open Outlook to your account profile, follow the steps below: - From your desktop, right-click on the Outlook icon and select Properties.
- Click on the Show Profiles button.
- Under When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile, select the profile you wish to use.
- Click on the OK button.
- Open Outlook by double-clicking on the Outlook icon on your desktop.
Email for your new profile will now be accessed. Note: Because of limits placed on your mailbox, you must complete the following steps to prevent your mail from being blocked or deleted.- From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
- Select the Mail tab and click on pop.netzero.com
- Click on Properties and select Advanced.
- Under the Deliver section, ensure that the Leave a copy of messages on server box is unchecked.
- Click OK to save.
