How do I leave a copy of mail on the server? To leave a copy of your email messages on the server (for download at another time): - Open Outlook Express
- Click on Tools and select Accounts
- Select the Mail tab, choose the account you wish to use, and click on Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab, and check the box next to Leave a copy of messages on the server.
- Click OK, then Close to save the settings.
