Try the following troubleshooting steps if you're having trouble receiving emails:
- Are you logged on?
Double-check to be sure you are currently connected to the Internet before trying to receive your emails by trying to open a Web page.
- Try to Receive messages
- Open Outlook.
- Click on Tools, point to Send and Receive, an select Send/Receive All
If there's a problem with receiving mail, you will see an error message. If you need to provide your Account Name and Password, you will be prompted.
- Configure your Account settings
Be sure you've configured your account to remember your account name and password.
- Open Outlook.
- Click on Toolsand select Email Accounts.
- Choose View or change existing email accounts and then click Next.
- Select your NetZero account, and click on Change.
- Re-enter your NetZero Account name and Password under Logon Information.
- Be sure the box next to Remember password is checked.
- Click Next then Finish to save the settings.
Try receiving your mail again.
- Check your POP and SMTP settings.
Be sure your POP and SMTP settings are correct for your NetZero account:
- Open Outlook.
- Click on Toolsand select Email Accounts.
- Choose View or change existing email accounts and then click Next.
- Select your NetZero account, and click on Change.
- Confirm that your POP and SMTP settings are correct. If not, change them.
- Click Next then Finish to save the settings.
POP: pop.netzero.com
SMTP: authsmtp.netzero.com
Try receiving your mail again.
- Change your mail server timeout settings
Sometimes your mail server will timeout before it can connect to NetZero to download your messages. To change this setting:
- Open Outlook.
- Click on Toolsand select Email Accounts.
- Choose View or change existing email accounts and then click Next.
- Select your NetZero account, and click on Change.
- Click on the Advanced tab, and change the Server Timeouts setting by sliding the bar to the right. You can choose up to 10 minutes.
- Click OK, then Next, then Finish to save the settings.
Try and receive mail again.
