These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the next step.
Low memory issues arise when you have too many applications on your iPhone® 4s. - Verify you have adequate memory.
- From the home screen, select Settings.
- Select General.
- Select Usage to view a list of applications that are currently consuming system memory.
- Try closing an application, and if you no longer use an application, uninstall it.
- Test your device to see if the issue is resolved.
- Uninstall unused applications. We recommend that you uninstall unused applications when possible. It helps free up internal memory and can improve device performance.
To uninstall an application: - Swipe left or right to the preferred home screen.
- Select and hold on the app icon to enter edit mode.
- When the application icons begin to shake, select the X next to the application.
- Select Delete to confirm the uninstallation.
- Note: When deleting a game, a prompt may appear to remove the app from Game Center leaderboards. If prompted, select the preferred option.
- Press the Home key to exit edit mode.
- Perform a soft reset. A soft reset deletes any temporary files and can potentially free up internal memory.
- From the home screen, press and hold the Power key and the Home key.
- Release the Power key and the Home key when the Apple logo appears.
- Your iPhone® 4s restarts.
- Test your device to see if the issue is resolved.
- Clear browser cache to clear up space
To clear browser cache in the iPhone®, complete the following steps: - From the home screen, select Settings.
- Scroll to and select Safari.
- Scroll to and select Clear History.
- Select Clear History.
- Select Clear Cookies and Data.
The browser cache is now cleared.
To clear browser cookies in the iPhone®, complete the following steps: - From the home screen, select Settings.
- Scroll to and select Safari.
- Select Clear Cookies and Data.
The browser cookies are now deleted.
